Animals

Using the Signs thread as inspiration I figured we should also post some St. John animals.

These are the only animal pics I have, I tend to only shoot the look at me types.

Any Iguana sighting deserves a picture taken though..

This guy liked to sun himself in the trees off the terrace of the villa.

This guy was hanging around our villa in Dec...a first for us, he's a yellow-footed tortoise.

I believe those are hibiscus crumbs on his face!

Great tortoise picture-that would have been cool to see.

We seem to attract chickens....we come back to find them in our pool, in our car.....

Becky...he was WAY cool! When I heard my husband calling me to 'come see this' I knew I was in for a treat. I would say he was 12-14".

I stopped to take a leak on the side of the road just after Bordeaux Mtn. I looked to my left and saw this about 2 inches from my face. My wife says I screamed like a girl. Somehow, I just don't recall it exactly like that....Image

Hi, I'll be your server today:

And from a tree near Kiddle Bay. I upset the apple cart when the flash went off on this one and the better picture would have been of this ol' fat boy running! :

for this newbie, all the pics posted here make our upcoming trip so much more exciting.

Thanks so much for sharing them.

JT I give lots of credit for even taking that pic of the bees. I would need a lens that takes pics from 5 miles away to do that!!

Cid, hope you were done doing your business when saw that big boy. I wouldn't have just screamed,I would have been doing my own "8 tuff miles" across island.

trvljohn, that morning commute sure beats the LIE here on LI! Wonder if the baby donkey was "Pilgrim", the one that was named here on VIOL. Was 1st seen during Thanksgiving.
No ticker anymore. Next vac will prob. be the Fl Keys.

Here's the Thanksgiving baby from late Nov/early Dec...he was darker. Photo quality is poor as they were on the bend and we were moving.

Image

Here is another Coral Bay baby who was much lighter...and a little older.

All of them are cute in my mind!
