Ferry Transfer

Post by AlohaMates »

4 of us are arriving on the 2:30 flight into STT. We need to get to Cruz Bay STJ ASAP. Looking for the shortest cab/ferry ride. Which operator should we use? Thanks,

There are taxi drivers just waiting to take you to the Red Hook ferry! The ride is about 20-30 minutes or so. For the past few years we have used the private land/water taxi. www.watertaxi-vi.com and they hook you up with Christopher's taxi and they are waiting on you at the airport to take you to a private dock. Taxi ride is still 20-30 minutes - water taxi - 10 minutes!! Hassle free and no waiting!

You will have plenty of time to take any of the airport taxis to Red Hook for the 4:00 ferry.

Yes you will make the 4pm Red Hook no problem taking the regular taxi and regular ferry so putting you on STJ by 4:20pm.

If you want to get there quicker, you will need to use a private water taxi and private taxi - for the taxi use Rachel and for 4 people she will charge $25.00 per person and for the private water taxi $125.00 (I believe) here is the link http://virginislandswatertaxi.com/Rates.html and by doing so you will be on STJ about 45 mins quicker but it will cost you about $150 more.

Which boat? If you are on a private boat or a charter, I would have them pick you up in Red Hook. It will save some time. You can be in Red Hook a little after three. Either way the ferry at four will put you in Cruz Bay at 4:20 to 4:30 range and you will have an hour to an hour and a half of daylight left.

east end taxi

Post by phyl »

Years ago, we used to get East end taxi at the airport. The way it sounds, we can just pick up our luggage at the airport and easily get a taxi to take us to Red Hook?? That sounds easy. Does anyone call ahead to East End taxi anymore? Thanks... :D

Always plenty of taxis waiting outside the baggage claim area to take you to Red Hook. They are not private taxis; you will be sharing with other folks and you may make a stop or two along the way to drop off other passengers. If you want a private taxi, there are several to choose from ~ and, make your arrangements with before your trip.
