frozen food carry on ?
For all you recent travelers - Did you have any problems carrying on your coolers? What type coolant did you use? I called TSA and they said I could use the frozen blue gel packs as long as they are frozen. This seems opposite what is on the website. Looking to take down frozen spag sauce, lasagna & meats.

I always check my frozen meats...I use freezer packs and dry ice. You have to declare the dry ice, and sometimes they weigh it to make sure it isn't over the limit, but I've never had problems. If you don't use dry ice, you should be able to check it without a problem. If you're trying to carry it on, I think you'll be fine as long as you don't have any dry ice and the stuff is frozen solid...though, you'll probably have trouble with sauce, even if it is frozen because of liquid carry on restrictions.

Carry on foods
We just flew from Indy to Florida earlier this month and was held up at at security for cheese and crackers. Thats right the little Kraft cheese and crackers with the little red plastic bar type spreader. They considered the cheese a liquid and they made us repackage what few snacks we had to fit in the 2 one quart bags we had with us
