Palm Villa Gift Hill

Post by nancyr84 »

Posted this before but put Palm Hill Villa by mistake. Trying to decide if its worth the extra bucks to book Palm Villa over Cloud Nine. Same View and layout but Palm Villa appears to be more updated. I was wondering if anyone has any pics of Palm

I'm not 100% but I think Cloud 9 was right near Skyway (same street) which has an incredible view so would think you can't go wrong either way...depends upon your needs/wants for an updated house. I will tell you that Skyway was expensive but so worth it. Amazing house!

Cloud 9 villa

Post by snorkelqueen »

We have stayed at Cloud 9 twice and the views are amazing. Cloud 9 is by far the cleanest and most well kept villa we have stayed in over a 10 year yearly visit to St. John. The owners and project manager are lovely, and even though C9 is an older villa every effort is made to keep it up-to-date. We did visit Palm and the views are similar we much preferred Cloud 9. I guess you can't go wrong with either villa.

Cloud 9 villa

Oh one more thing....the covered gazebo at cloud nine is a HUGE PLUS. You can get out of the sun, and eat outside even during a short rain shower!

We stayed at Palm Villa on our first visit to STJ and we loved it so much we went back with another couple 6 months later!
The view is awesome and I see the kitchen has been updated. Everything was wonderful about the villa itself, most especially the access (and we were first time visitors).
The bedrooms though are not equal, how many of you are going? The villa really consists of three separate builidngs 2 of which are connected with a very short covered walkway. The MBR is in a separate building and the two guest rooms and bath are in a separate building. The loft bedroom in the main building is not air conditioned and got hot in May.
We would stay there again, either alone or with other couple(s); but one couple paying more for the MBR and it's separate sitting room and private location.
Hope this helps, Happy Planning!

P.S.
Nancy, my pics of Palm Villa pretty much got trashed when I lost my computer a couple of months ago. I will tell you that the pictures on the website are true and actually do not do the view justice. We ate ALL of our meals outside and layed in the chairs watching the cruise ships leaving St Thomas at night. We hardly ate out at all, the view could not be beat.
I do know that Palm Villa shares a driveway with Cloud Nine, so access and view probably are equal, just not sure.

nancy, never been in palm but have stayed at c9 4 times. she's not fancy but have never stayed in a more comfortable villa. views and lay outs will be same except:

palm has huge master suite on back of house so more true bedrooms.

c9 has that wonderful gazebo and thus relief from the afternoon sun and ac in the great room. palm does have a table umbrella on deck.
