Beach Party Update!

Well, I went out yesterday, Jan 31st and they changed the location of the party. They call it a "Fish Fry" and it was held at the old Pickles spot in Coral Bay yesterday. Two of the key people who put the party on took position at the Pickles/St John Bar spot and will be cooking/bar-tending there on a regular basis. Because of that, the beach Fish Fry at Hansen Bay will be held only once a month. I'm not sure of the date of the next one, but it will be either a Saturday or a Sunday in about a month from now. I will let you know what I am able to find out. Not sure how things turned out at the new spot yesterday. We didn't stay since we were loaded up with the kayak and son and were ready for the beach. BUT, the good thing is you can go to the new spot and get some really good food and drink almost all of the time. So be sure to check them out. Will let you know the date of next Fish Fry at Hansen Bay!!!!

THis sounds pretty cool-where is Pickles? I am not so good w/the Coral Bay side as far as directions. If I am at Skinny's, do I head toward the East End or Salt Pond?

We went looking for the party and didn't find it. We went to Haulover for a little while and saw a Huge(to me) barricuda. Later we were on our way to Love City Market we saw the sign at the sign fence. What do you call that area? Anyway we didn't see enough of the sign to see where it was directing us to. We had a good day anyway.

The next one is supposed to be at Hansen Bay on Feb 27 or 28th. I will try to find out a few days in advance. To get to Hansen Bay, you drive out on Centerline. Once you are in Coral Bay, continue straight (past Skinny Legs) and keep going. It's quite a ways out there. You will pass a tree in the middle of the road, Vie's Snack Shack, and the Hansen Bay Campground will be on the right. There is a white gate that should be open. You can pull in and park in the gate if there is room. Things usually start around 1pm. They will only being doing the parties at Hansen Bay once a month. BUT, two of the people who put it on took over at the old Pickles spot. To get there, once you get to Coral Bay, turn right like you are going to Salt Pond. There is a little building on the road on the right, that it it! if you made it to the Dumpsters, you went to far. I'll post again when I know more!

Sunday February 28th!!! It will be at Hansen Bay Campground. Hope you can make it if you are on island. It's been tooooo long since the last one!
