Daysail from St Thomas

Post by sherban »

Hey all- Just thought I would ask for opinions or thoughts on which daysail to do or where to go or any ideas...we've never done one...I'm sure we will enjoy whatever we choose but I thought I would ask for inputs from people who have done it...I get seasick fairly easily but I'm not hyper sensitive...

We would probably do a full day sail out of the East side of STT. I would really like to go to Hans Lollick and climb to the top of the island and take a picture of STT...this picture sucked me in...

Here are the top contenders right now-, any ideas or suggestions?

I would be very surprised if any of those vessels would go to Hans Lollick, maybe the cat, and for sure you would have to book the whole boat that day. A rental power boat out of Red Hook would be a much better vessel for that trip - or ask one of the locals at Mandahl Lagoon to run you over and pick you up - the helicopters also land there on occasion you might check with them too, bring long pants and shirt, good soled shoes, lots of bug spray, and a good supply of water for the hike.

Sherban, thanks for posting that photo/view of Hans Lollick beach!! I've only seen it from where we stay in the Mahogany Run area. Would see a few boats infrequently there at the beach and one night a nice bonfire. Looks fab in that pic and makes me wanna go there!!

Good luck with your daysail choice. I can't suggest any of them as we've only been on the M/Y Cinnamon Bay with Cap'n Dan and Donna ... excellent people btw!
Gorgeous boat with some history as well.
Enjoy ...

I think I need to take Hans Lollik off the daysail ageanda...like ExitZero said, it is probably a motor boat trip agenda item. I probably need to let the dailsail agenda be "the standard one" and enjoy that for what it is. I was trying to cram all the agenda into one trip (my usual MO)but I think it is too much.

So the agenda becomes a "standard daysail agenda"...
