Video of the snow storm in Florence

Post by Anthony »

This is from a few weeks ago, but finally got around to putting it up. It's sort of long, but there is a nice Chopin piece to go along with it:

I don't know... something about centimeters... :)

In town there was maybe 4 or 5 inches, much more up in the hills. It was super heavy and wet - it has been raining pretty much since! The river looked amazing today.

@Anthony-- The ceiling of lights is really cool next to the Orsanmichele. One of my fave little sandwich places is right next to the Orsanmichele -- I Fratellini!! Their Chingale (wild boar) sandwich ROCKS!! That and a little glass of wine -- YUM!

This is a beautiful video. I have watched it three or four times and can not get over the way the fine old buildings look like architectural drawings. Love it! The Christmas lights are lovely too, especially with the snow.
Well done - thank you.

Oh and the video was gorgeous. Perfect choice of music!

BTW-- we ARE going to be in Florence in late September this year. We're thinking September 16-21 in Amsterdam and then the 21st - 29th in Florence.

If for whatever reason we can't make those dates work, we'll push to similar dates in October.

I'm hoping that you;ll still be in Florence and I can buy you an espresso or somthing!

@Anthony -- Ahh THAT's it!! LOVE that place.

Second only to the Mercato Centrale for picnic items... One the vendors there sells a Fromaggi al Tartuffo, which -- when smeared on a hunk of bread --is a trip to heaven.

DO tell on the panini spots! I'm putting together my eating itinerary now....

Icche Ce Ce... I Fratellini...

Very romantic. Thank you for sharing that with us. I know I am a bit late in seeing it, but it was stunning to watch nonetheless. :)

Anthony--

Gino and his wife are absolutely lovely people! I swear Mr. Gromit wants to go back just so he can eat there again. They have the most wonderful gnocchi with a butter sage sauce. WONDERFUL!

I'll be in touch, Anthoy and perhaps you can meet us there for dinner!

I'll check out the other links as well.

If you'd like I'll be happy to do a guest TR for the site with pics. Would that help your site?

It's funny - we have been there and enjoyed it - but haven't been back in a long time. Probably just the fact that we pretty much stopped going out to dinner - and for lunch we try to keep it really inexpensive. I know people swear by it though - including some Florentines...
