End of the trip
End of the trip
Well it was time to go home. Our flight out wasn't until 6pm so we had lots of time today to wander around. We sadly packed the jeep and dropped our snorkel rentals off to Crabby's, taking one final look at our great rental. Highly recommend this for a couple-feel free to email/pm if you have any questions about it.

We've never had a flight this late before and had wondered about what to do with our luggage-onthelake told me that Connections would hold it-and they did for a mere $3 or $4 I think it was. The women I've met at Connections are always very nice and helpful. We stop in every few days at either one to check out emails and pick up the daily paper. They do a great job!
We gassed up on the east end-but we had a somewhat defective gas guage because by the time we made it straight over to Conrad Sutton's the guage read that it was down maybe an 1/8th. We told them we'd just gassed up and she was very nice-just told us to maybe gas up in Cruz Bay in the future. Whew, I didn't want to get hollered at on our last day
We walked down to Mongoose for some shopping and had another first-the Deli Grotto-oh my goodness, why had I never stopped in here before???
What yummy baked goods they had, and a really large menu of sandwiches too- http://www.virginislandsthisweek.com/me ... _menu.html
We ended up walking back here just before we left to grab food for the airplane-it was delicious!
Wandered around and picked up a few odds and ends and eventually made it back downtown for lunch at Sogo's. We first ate here a few trips back and always try to stop in-very nice lady who owns/runs it-good sized portions and drinks. I'm borrowing this link from St. John Spice-I can't remember if this is a current menu but you get the idea of the food anyway. Love the veggies!

We planned to catch the Charlotte Amalie ferry so after picking up our luggage we sat in the park for a while and watched them decorate the Christmas tree.

Ran into Ruth here one last time-she was taking pictures too
A beautiful ferry ride to end our trip. It was just another great visit. We feel very lucky that we "found" the USVI's-they help us relax and unwind for brief periods of time. We're also fortunate that some friends who've been to the British Virgin Islands want to come next year to St. John in July so we'll have a lot of fun planning for that trip and showing them around.
Thanks for all the great advice we get here, and thanks for reading these reports-made it fun for me going over all the memories again.
And one final look at St. Thomas-to paraphrase Arnold "We'll be back!"
