Spatini anybody?

Post by Connie »

My mom (86) has used spatini for years. She makes the best meatballs in the world.

The stopped making it for consumers, but I was able to find it online. It's not those small packages, but it's restaurant size. My Mom couldn't believe it and she, my brothers and myself are so excited!

I grilled some chicken today and sprinkled only a little bit on top and this chicken is amazing!

Anybody else ever use it?

What is it Connie? A spice or herb blend? I've never heard of it. Sounds like a martini served at a spa....hahahahahaha!!!

I've never used or heard of it either so I googled it.

Yes, it is a spice blend for spaghetti sauce (or gravy depending on your location).

But one of the other google hits was this:

SPAtini Day Spa Shoppes at the Buck - 1201 Buck Road, Suite 4 - Feasterville, PA 19053 Tel. 215-354-1333 - Mail. info@spatinidayspa.com.

There's the link for some information. It's a spice blend and I guarantee you that alot of restaurants use it.

Making meatballs that everybody for over 30 years has asked for (although they don't know what goes into it). It's still sort of a secret :o)

There's is a petition online...that's how good it is.

I've never used it but can still remember the jingle for their TV commercial years ago. I did see this at a local supermarket not long ago, maybe old stock.

My Mom always used this in our spaghetti sauce when I was a kid. I loved it! We were in Philly then, that's where you are from, right Connie?

I actually saw this in our grocery store a couple of months ago and bought a package to give to my Mom as a joke. Now I am wondering how old it was!!
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
