Someone is missing
Someone who was here yesterday is now gone. I do not know why nor do I need to know.
I simply want to say that I enjoyed your posts, and that I wish you well and will miss your presence here.

To the one who has gone:
Since 1992 or so, long before I lived here, I have met many people from this and prior internet travel forums in person. I sometimes forget that I am unique in that. People I have met here, including you, have enriched my life in ways that I can hardly explain.
I am thankful that I have met you in person. I am thankful that our love of St. John and the Virgin Islands made our paths cross.
You will be missed here on the forum. I will miss your input here, but at least I know that I will see you on St. John.
I am the lucky one. I know that the people who were participating in this forum because they loved St. John will still come to this island and I will see them again.
I am sorry that a few individuals have made this forum environment something that many of us no longer enjoy. I wish that they would go away and that you would stay.
I know that the "live and let live" attitude of St. John that made me want to live here still applies to many of the visitors like you. I hope that you take pride in that.
See you on St. John.

Not meant to be puzzling... or controversal....Lex wrote:I'm finding this all quite cryptic. Anyone care to provide some specifics?
Having no other connection to the person who chose to leave, this was the only mode I could think of using to express to that person how I feel, and I hope that it will be read.
I see no need to provide specifics.
There seems to be something of an exodus occurring here in a variety of ways. Too bad.

I told you this morning when she broke the news that she was leaving. Some of you are griving the loss of yet another friend. Others of you have not even realized that anyone left. And someone has practically called us liers for reporting the news. Why? Because it runs contrary to his view of the world.
It is sad to think that the reaction of some people on this forum is "resign away" instead of being concerned about another human being. This is no longer the kind of forum I want to be associated with, nor is STJ the island I want go to. I can get all of that I want in New York City.

While I agree with this advice in general terms, I think in this case that you were wise to follow your heart. You were brave and honest in your feelings and there is no need for erasure.
Just my opinion, of course.

But he's not going to get us out of this mess.
Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Was it me? Hoping not to offend anyone.
I'm thinking we all have the same agenda...?-
Kindness, due to the fact that the world is what we make of it; then finding the beaches/people the likes of which we find on STJ, bewildering & subtley exciting...you get what you give type stuff...
And along the way we remember to bring our

Even if it hurts? That's where I'm at, sometimes...

Guys - sometimes people just choose to leave. There are 2,500 (or so) registered users here, there have been thousands of people who have came and went over the years. I think the user had a bit of a security concern and asked to be deleted. I don't think it is something we all need to get into an argument about! Eat some turkey! Thanks to all of you who ever visited this place, once, twice, or 10,000 times -
