Locating a villa if I don't have the name

Post by martini girl »

While staying at Great Expectations, we had our eye on a villa that we could see from our patio. I think I found it on Google Earth (it has a royal blue roof on all the buildings and what looks like an infinity pool which is how I spotted it on Google Earth). Anyway, I have the name of the road it's on as well as Google Earth's latitude/longitude markings. How do I go about finding out the name etc? Any ideas?

What bay was it on? Was in on the water or in the hills? Perhaps someone here will know it.

It was in the hills, overlooking Hart Bay. The directions from google earth say to get on Bovacap Rd to Hawk Hl. There are actually 2 villas w/ blue roofs, but I'm pretty sure of which one it is via google earth. Thanks

That might be Le Lapin II (The Wabbit!)

(What a geek, I think I have that entire region memorized!)

Another option is Andane by the Sea.

Take a look at this shot from Jazz Villa. That road spiraling up on the other side of the salt pond is what google calls Hawk Hi. The name on the sign is something like Iguana Lane. Nice road - it looks ot be made from hand mixed concreat laid by hand, reminds me of Brewers Bay Road on Tortola. At least it would have good traction when wet.

Have fun. Cheers, Rick

I know that vila! It's Villa Mistral. I think it has been off the rental market for about three years. I only know this because we rented a villa across the bay from it for our first trip, and we could not believe how huge it was. We called it the "Blue Castle."

Yup, that's it. Always hoped it would come back on the market because I stare in awe of it every trip. It is breathtaking.

We should have a contest named "Name that Villa." You did well on that one and quick too!

hart bay villa

first of two blue roofed villas you can see looking west across n end of hart bay is oceanport. see her and the second blue roof villa in question at http://destinationstjohn.com/oceanport.htm

now, does anyone know the name of her western neighbor? lelapin is on hill above oceanport and her pool is not visible from east ridge above hart bay.

Ahh, of course, Oceanport. It always looks so dramatic perched on the hill. There's a wooden staircase down to the beach. It looks like a good tumble.

Is Lizard Inn at the top of the hill, west of Oceanport?
