Yanks vs Phils-

Post by mahojim »

Game 4 ain't over yet, but it looks like the Yankees are letting the Phillies beat themselves.
Good job by the Yanks, very disappointing for Philly fans.
At least I've got STJ to fall back on for relief this weekend...

I was hoping the Phillies would pick up where the Eagles left off :(

You've got the right attitude Jimmy; however, a trip to the caribbean did little to sway my "grief" after the '86 World Series

But hey, it ain't over yet!

Dear Carlos,

We are already enjoying a vacation.

Sincerely,

Your pitch selection choices and willingness to block sliders in the dirt
When we come to place where the sea and the sky collide
Throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide

I LOVE these Phils...
Win or lose, I'm going to STJ on saturday, and I'm going to celebrate everything, anyway.
Man, I really hope they win...
Someone(jmq-) do me a solid, and remind Ryan Howards' bat that this isn't funny anymore.
Thanks!

And with the weather forecast for Thursday, it could live even longer!

Dear Yankees Pitchers,

Please stop pitching to Chase Utley.

Love,

Fans of the team

PS: please ask AJ why he insists on wearing an anchor chain around his neck. It's not like he needs help choking without it.

Hey Jimmy – funny, but I think that you may think that my sarcastic remarks about Hamels and Ruiz make me out to be a Philly fan.

No offense to you personally, but I would never want to be associated with that crowd. Did you hear them doing the “Yankees suck “ chant during that game 3 early inning rally while the Phillies were at bat?

I’ve been to enough games in Philly where it seems like it more about “the other team sucks!” than “Yay for our team!” than anywhere else I’ve been. Of course everyone has their fair share of those kinds of “fans” – just seem more numerous there.

That said, I hope Howard’s bats arrive at Yankee stadium wrapped in newspaper and dead fish and that you have a great trip to STJ.

Nicely played about Howards' bat, good sir...
I hear you, loud & clear, about some of the fans. Personally, I think it's a shame.
Seems to me that there's more than a few "band-wagon" type fans. I took my dad to a game in the later part of this season, and we dealt with a relatively lengthy mid-game rain delay. It was less than enjoyable, to say the least. Nothing worse than a bunch of hammerheads getting drunk & obnoxious at a game. (Especially when they walk right passed Greg Luzinski at Bull's BBQ at the stadium, and have no idea about who this guy is...) Add in a rain delay, and some of the fans have nothing else to do but get even more drunk. At least when the game is in progress their focus isn't on just getting buzzed, even if they don't know what the "infield fly rule" is. Are you following me?
I was born in Philly, and as much as I enjoy comoraderie(sp?), I am definately not a fan of the bad sportsmanship that I see all the time. Whether it's a Phils', Yankees, Giants,Penguins fan or not; some folks don't know what the term "sore winner" is.
Gives us a bad name, indeed.
I'm glad we had this talk...
