Travel Bug
We have the travel bug now. First Italy...Greece with our friends Chuck and Pat in 2010.
My husband has travelled all over Europe back in the early 70's. I'm thirsty for cultural travel now.
Please share your best travel destination. We'd love to hear it all. Pictures would be great!

Terry, I really like Cabo San Lucas.
Mexico, itself, doesn't interest me much, but it's nice in Baja! I did a trip report last December, you can read it here: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... 285#114285

We went to Spain (Madrid and the south) this spring -- loved it! Sevilla was especially beautiful. Here are a few snapshots from the trip, taken with my trusty point & shoot: http://tinyurl.com/ykjukl5

By far the best cultural travel I have done (I have done a lot of travel - but not a lot of the culturally diverse kind) was to Guanajuato, Mexico.
Flew in to Guadalajara then bussed a few hours to Guanajuato. No English spoken there but I managed to get by.
Not sure if I've inserted this link correctly but it'll give you the Coles Notes version of why I fell in love with this city. It is in the Sierra Madre mountains and although hot during the day, freezing cold at night (polar fleece cold).

Spent a week exploring the city and took a day trip to San Miguel de Allende (another beautiful little city full of artisans) then bussed about 8+ hours to Puerto Vallarta for a week of beach and sunshine.
