Gift Hill Cellphone reception

Sorry if this has been covered before, but does anyone know about cellphone coverage in the Gift Hill area? The villa we have rented does not have a phone...

We've stayed in the Gifft Hill area twice. The first year we had our Verizon cell phones and had spotty reception. Last year, we brought an AT&T go-phone and it had good reception on Gifft Hill and several other places on the island.

I too have had very good luck with AT&T on the island. Every once in a while a mountain would get in the way of receiption, but I would get it again once I moved out of that small area. I have been told that some other carriers have real problems getting service there. I

at&t works well at Gifft Hill School. SPrint- only in the parking lot. Verizon - spotty- can usually get it on the back road leading to Fish Bay.

I just stayed in Gifft Hill last week. I bring a go phone for my trips to st john-no problem with service (except on the north shore beaches, but we shouldn't be on the phone there anyway). I also had my verizon phone with me-I received a couple of calls in the villa.

By the way, gophones have a new plan, $3/day-unlimited calling (to anyone)
