Beautiful journey, harsh reality of work

I know that I'm lucky to even have a job in today's market. But after returning from a remarkable Italy journey I was hit with a downgrade of my job position at work. They dropped my salary position back to an hourly position.
Anyone else experience this sort of work related experience?

I've seen all get pinched by today's economy.

Good news is that it appears to be trending upward, without a doubt.
