Just saying how I see it
While I have not been here long relative to some of the active members here I must say that I have seen a change in attitude here. It is not only in the few that are being called out as bullies or hijackers or whatever offense they are accused of but also in those those that take the "high ground" attitude of "this is supposed to be a fun place". Since when is it not bullish to suppose an authority to tell others what can be posted, where it can be posted and how it can be said? Since being here I have been scolded for posting on a thread that was a week old, I have been accused of being a troll, I have seen personal attacks on posters, I have witnessed attacks on public figures, I have even seen allegations of criminal activity by deceased victims of crime. I have watched members accuse others of offenses and then continue to commit the same acts themselves. I watch as apologies are offered in the same posts as they continue on in the same vein that they apologised for. I have seen rare posts by Anthony asking for civility and watched the same crap continue in his thread. It's as if we are not reading what we are writing.
I guarantee that there will be posts to follow this one that will say that I am guilty of trying to control what is said here. Thats fine. That is not what I am doing here. Post what you want. Anthony makes the rules here. I will not try to control what you write. I will only take contol over what I write and what I choose to read. Let me tell you, some of what I have read is what I might expect from a group of unruly third grade kids. Whatever. Each of us are free to make an ass out of ourselves in public if that is what we want. And some of us have done a fine job of it.
Carry on.

First of all, I feel bad that you were treated so bad! So, you comment on a thread that is a week old? What does that hurt? Maybe someone other than Anthony owns this website--or thinks that they do. And I agree that type of thinking is the thinking of the real bully.
Things have simmered down and that is a good thing. It is just too bad that it has to be like that in the first place.

Toes in the Sand---I agree with you for the most part, which is why I have been a little less active on the Board recently. The lack of civility lately is alarming to me. By the way, I think we are on different ends of the political spectrum, but that only helps prove your point.
I do not like censorship---I personally do not think politics should be off-limits on the "Off=Topic Board" --but I do not understand why some people, on both sides of the political divide, think it is acceptable to be rude and insulting when discussing politics. I would note, however, that its certainly not just this Board--the Internet is filled with vitriolic discussions on politics---that does not make it acceptable in my mind. But then again, I'm old and from another generation.
Having said all that, its really just a few posters that engage in the divisive posts----most just want to post about travel or food---so I suspect everything will return to normal soon. And hey---some of it is entertaining---at least until it hits too close.
