Wow... I'm having trouble finding a route from ATL to STT for less than $600 right now for our July trip. It looks like the planes are 1/2 full or so. Hoping for a sale on any airline (want nonstop or one stop) sometime in March or April. Darn weekend flights...

If you are not tied down to weekends, Spirit has great fares.

We booked for April leaving on Tuesday and returning nine days later (Thursday) $550 total for two RT out of O'Hare.

FYI, for those using Spirit, I read on another board that as of 2/10 they are limiting checked luggage to 1 bag per person, and then charging $10/bag for anything over that.

Haven't actually been to the Spirit site to verify that but perhaps I will do that now

Not only was I able to get tickets for May to STT from Atlantic City for less than $300 rt, I was able to take advantage of their BOGO Sale (Buy One Get One Free) and as a result of buying those tickets I qualified for another 2 tickets free to be used at another time :)

Congrats Donna!

When are you going?

Do you think you'll be able to use those free tickets? I was wondering if the restrictions and conditions on those might make them impossible to redeem.

Pat,
I have become a huge fan of Spirit lately. I bought the tickets in January for a trip to STT In May ($298 rt.) The free tickets are awarded once we return and are good anywhere in the Spirit system for at least 6 months maybe longer. I also just bought r/t tickets to Fla for $120..can't beat that either. You cannot beat their prices when they have a sale, you just have to be able to move on it right away.

Parafins,

I like your rule; sadly we are only going for NINE days in April! :( We had a previous rule of not less than 2 weeks, which we like to stretch into 17 or 18 days. But that just didn't work for this trip. Hoping to go back in July or November.

The problem I found with the mid-week arrival and departure is many villa owners are reluctant to rent that timeframe, because it 'consumes' two weeks from their rental calendars.
