Woodstock (song):
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Woodstock" is a song about the Woodstock Music and Art Festival of 1969.
Joni Mitchell wrote the song from what she had heard from then-boyfriend, Graham Nash, about the festival. She had not been there herself, since she was told it would be more advantageous to appear on The Dick Cavett Show by a manager. She wrote this song crying at home watching the show on television...Prior to release on any album, Mitchell performed "Woodstock" at the 1969 Big Sur Folk Festival, one month after Woodstock.

... no longer a stranger to paradise
Yikes! That was a terrible day in history! Elvis died on my birthday. That was a bummer.....California Girl wrote:Rick and I were married on August 9, 1969. The same day that the Manson Family killed Sharon Tate & Jay Sebring. Fond memory, eh?![]()
P.S. But thanks for remembering, Bev! I'm impressed!
I knew it was right around my birthday and I try my best to remember birthdays, anniversaries, etc. of people I care about..

What a way to remember good days! Sheesh!bevm wrote:Yikes! That was a terrible day in history! Elvis died on my birthday. That was a bummer.....
