BLT dip

Post by jdw »

Does anyone have a recipe for this dip? My husband tried it at a party and loved it so I thought I would try and make it at home.

Thanks.

Ingredients
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
Iceberg lettuce, shredded
2 large vine-ripe tomatoes, chopped
1 pound lean bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Sea salt bagel chips
Directions
Combine the mayonnaise and sour cream in a small bowl with a snap-on lid. When well mixed, refrigerate until serving time. When ready to serve, place the mayonnaise mixture in a large serving bowl. Top with the lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. Serve with bagel chips.
I have toasted bread and cut into small triangles rather than the bagel chips- crackers are also great with this dip too.

P-600's recipe is the basic ingredients that I use. I mix mine a bit differently though. I use diced canned tomatoes (very well drained - I even squish out the juice) or I use ripe fresh tomatoes, drained and squished as well. I put them right into the mayo/sour cream mix. I let that sit overnight, then add my crumbled freshly cooked bacon the next morning.

I don't use lettuce.

I serve mine with ritz crackers.
