Last chance for Maho?

Post by Lex »

I'd pretty much resigned myself, but fortunately, others haven't yet.

Wanted to report back that I just made a donation. It brightened my day to think that it may still be possible----if not to save the campground, to protect the land and keep the big houses from defacing yet another hillside.

Wondering if Kenny Chesney would make a large donation?

I can't make a Kenny-sized donation, but I'm going to give what I can. I think if we all do, it will add up.

I'm also going to tell a few folks who love Maho that they need to go to this Web site as well. Every little bit helps.

I read an article about Stanley a while ago, and he said that he bought the land for Concordia and has been focusing more on it because he knew that with the value of the land his lease would never get renewed in 2012.

I think it would be awesome if they can buy this land and keep the camps. I don't want St. John to get too expensive for normal folks to visit.

I'm not the camping type -- never have been, never will be. But I just donated as much as I can, because I love St. John and I believe in Maho Bay.

I just sent in a donation also. I'll be hitting up some friends that are STJ lovers as well. While I don't camp out anymore, we can't let this land go to developers.

I hope TPL is sucessful!

If you're moved to do something to try to help save Maho from a potentially very sad fate (and why wouldn't you be), don't delay. Too often I have good impulses and good intentions that I don't act on.

I made a donation and I think you should, too. And there's no reason not to do it today.

I also mailed an e-mail to everyone I know who has been to St. John but probably aren't on this forum to see this information.

The way I look at it, we don't need some big rich person to swoop in on a white horse and save the day (although that would be nice). If everyone who's been there donates what they can, then there should be enough. We just have to get the word out.

Kenny has and so has Jimmy I was told by people in the know.
Someone said Harrison Ford also..
I do know after echatting with John at TPL, that they do have some big contacts they are going after.
I really believe this will come to fruition

Ask Kenny when you see him tailgating with ya all Mike at Gillette.....challenge him to his face that is definately worth a pic.........lol
