Wisconsin Summer Gathering - Date Set!

Post by Tracy in WI »

Thanks to Sea-Nile, we now have an offical date!

The Wisconsin Summer Get-together will be on Saturday, July 14th in Madison. Time and place to be determined.

Everyone is welcome.

Here is what we need to know...

Who is coming?

Who needs a hotel? And for how many people?

Preferences on hotel - we can try to find something downtown and near the Capitol which is near lots of restaurants and bars and possibly more pricey. Or, we can look for something out a bit with a possible restaurant/bar on premises.

Please let us know asap so we can get hotels reserved!
Let's have a great turnout!

Thanks Tracey. Of course I will be there with 2-4 people and we will need one room (2 beds). More than likely it will be two of us. No smoking room, please!

I like the idea of a place with a bar/reastauraunt out of town a bit, but near the lake we will be on (if that is possible). However, I don't care either way. I hope we have a good turn out!

Brian and I will plan to be there (with 2 little ones in tow). Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with planning or executing.

Hope all you cheeseheads have a great time.

We will not be able to join you, hubby's 50th is that weekend and we're planning a trip somewhere to celebrate, STJ hopefully. :D

I'll put this on the calendar, but I don't know if we'll make it or not. My parents both hit 80 this year and my sister and I are planning to rent three or four cabins somewhere in the Northwoods (probably the Northern Resort in Minoqua) to get everyone together for a few days, and that hasn't been scheduled yet.

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

Sorry to interrupt this thread but I was getting directions to a cemetery in New Jersey for my father. Turns out that he's going to a cemetery where Vince Lombardi is buried in Middletown, NJ. He's buried next to his wife and his parents. Thought you folks from Wisconsin would be interested. Have fun at your get together!

Thanks Jerseyboy - that is a neat picture.

And JMQ - does that mean you're going to fly out for the occasion??!

Nah - I'm all the way here NJ. Just been to Madison WI a few times on business and had great burgers, cheese curds, and Spotted Cow beer at Dotty Dumpling's Dowry near campus (you know, when in Rome...)

Poor Tracy,
You have now become "Julie" of the "Love Boat." No worries, Pete can be "Issac."
Me, I'll just be one of the high maintainence guests. :)

Tracy and Marcia,
Maybe you should just pick out a hotel and let everyone make their own reservations.
Any ideas on hotels yet?

Yea...it would be cool to have all mostly in the same place....we are already scattered!

Hubby & I & possibly the 2 girls will be there....we don't do Madison very often, so our vote is by the beach...I mean Lake!
