Another Vancouver Question

You might remember I asked for and got EXCELLENT Vancouver advice back last year when I was out there on business.

I'll be going back next summer for work and am taking an extra week to explore. Hubby, Gram and the kiddos (by then almost 4 and 8!) will be flying out to join me.

I plan to do a few days in the city and Vancouver Island with them but would love information on a couple things:

1 - Family friendly accomodations - preferably a 1 bed w/ kitchen or kitchenette or a suite

2 - The feasibility of doing a 3 day cruise out of Vancouver to Alaska

Any advice would be welcome! Thanks!
