Maybe booking ahead isn't a bad idea

Post by SusanNJ »

Just an FYI I just booked my return trip for this October last week. My travel agent looked up the rooms at Caneel (we usually stay on Scotts Beach) and she only had one room left on this beach for that time of year. She thought it was very surprising to have one room left so far in advance. It makes me think that due to the new passport restrictions (Puerto Rico and the USVIs only places left to go without a passport) more people will be booking their vacations here.

So if you are planning on returning to the USVIs book early!

During our last off-season trip to Caneel, the resort seemed to be well-occupied. Not that it felt crowded but there was lots of activity going on.

I think destination weddings in the off-season are becoming more popular.

Lucky you to be going back. We kicked around the idea for our upcoming trip but decided to rent a house again and invite my mom and friend along to serve as babysitters.

We noticed that too last year. I guess October is becoming more popular to go to St. John even though it is still hurricane season. We wound up getting a few free nights at the Westin so we couldn't pass that up and the rest of our stay we decided to "splurge" at Caneel. Can't wait!
