never a dull moment....on island......
ok.....so my 6 year old didn't pee much yesterday...but I didn't think much of it due to the fact that we were flying all day. Got in the pool last night and she said her "gina" hurt.....LOL....yes, no VA-Gina....just gina.....Didn't think too much of it....but today..she starts crying when she has to pee and is now holding it like a camel! LOL.....
SIGH...never fails. Here we are at Francis....lovin' life...and she is simply falling apart. I tell her that we either need to find a doctor "and get pink medicine" or find cranberry juice and drink a ton of it. You know it's BAD when she opted for finding a doctor. Easier said than done.....Looks like my husband is in for 6-8 hour ordeal in Coral Bay to get "pink medicine"...on a Saturday no less.....
Poor kid....and poor Dad......like I said...never a dull moment.....

You're right -- there is never a dull moment with kids. Hope you can get to see a doctor. I had the same affliction on a vacation years ago. I tried the cranberry route to get me through the vacation and ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection when I got home. I think there is a family practice of doctors in Cruz Bay. Ask whoever you are renting from to make a recommendation.
I don't mean to be an alarmist, but better to treat the infection than risk it getting worse.
Good luck and enjoy the vacation!

My advice is to get to a Dr. and get her on antibiotics. We found a Dr. in Cruz Bay that gave my daughters friend a shot for her bladder infection and she felt so much better in a few hours. I think his name was Dr. Livingston. Not sure if he's still there, but it was the clinic by Dolphin Market. They have the meds, so you don't have to go to the pharmacy. Very convienient.

Oh dear, I just re-read my response. I was only making suggestions to make the child more comfortable until she could be treated by a physician. Having chronic bladder infections myself, antibiotics as quickly as possible are imperative. But until they kick in, my suggestions may provide some relief and keep things from going from bad to worse.

thanks for the responses! Oddly enough....we took her to the medical "facility" on the Coral Bay side...they were only open for emergencies, but at 2pm on a Saturday, we were sh%t out of luck, so we went in. They didn't think she had a UTI....they tested her urine (getting her to pee in the cup was a miracle in itself)....and they said the bacteria count wasn't high.....So she is drinking and peeing more..and she SAYS it doesn't hurt as much. ????/ Mystery!

I don't think so....we are staying in Coral Bay...and it was less than 10 minutes away....maybe we have the name wrong. But we passed it on the way from the ferry to the house.....and ADam took her there yesterday...definitely not in Cruz Bay........but maybe we have the name wrong..
ETA.....adam said it was closer to cruz bay than he thought..but NOT the place in Starfish market. Tho' we called like 5 diffrerent places. All closed by Sat. Afternoon. So....doesn't matter....because my poor little girl still isn't feelin' well...and fell ASLEEP at trunk bay today....saying she was cold.....not a good sign. We gave her tylenol and came back to the villa for some villa gravity. She has since perked up, but I wonder........
