oh no....don't let the crazy people of the world scare you off....it gives them too much power! LOL...Trolls will be trolls and evil lurks in even the smallest of places. Just know...those that give the most trouble on forums like these are often the most unhappy people in real life.....I feel for them...their crazy posts and terrible comments mean
1. They have waaaaay too much time on their hands. Which means no life....or very little of one

2. They have very poor self esteem and feel "big" by making others feel little.

3. They have probably very little to feel grateful for and feel the need to start trouble to fill the void in their lives.

The list can go on....I chuckle at forum drama for mainly seeing right through the crazy people in the world.

I understand your need for a break...but do come back...never let the crazy people will! LOL

Apparently I post too much anyway. I'm sorry, but I came to this forum to get away from the snarkieness of VINOW, but it seems to have seeped over here. There's hardly anything I can post any more without getting some ugly response or PM. I don't need any of that crap in my life.


"If you don't like it, don't read it" is pretty hard to adhere to when all you have to do is open the Off Topic forum to get smacked in the face with a list of topics intended to inflame. I don't have to read it... it's just too in my face.

Sorry to see you go CG, this is a better place with you around.

I used to frequent a very busy Bermuda forum. Tons of daily posts, they had coozies, t-shirts, buttons, secret passwords and gatherings. Then the in-fighting started and now there's barely 1 post a week.

I hope VIOL isn't going away the same way.

Maybe we've all lost sight of what the VIOL is meant to be..It's not a place for political statements (there are other forums for those). It's a place for information and sharing memories of the place in the world that we love most.. We want outsiders to come to the forum and feel unafraid to ask questions about the V.I. That's the reason the forum was established in the first place..not for our own agendas or vendettas. Let's get back to what this is suppose to be for. Sharing information. Leave your personality quirks at the dock (Cruz Bay) and have fun...COME ON FOLKS! We're adults here...Let's not forget that, please....

I don't read the Off Topic forum. I stay right here where people talk about St. John and their travels. If I were to leave this forum, I would not hear about everyone's trips and kewl things that are happening. Nothing could be said on the Off Topic that could rob me of this simple pleasure. As stated before, do not hand over the power to control your emotions to someone else. Stay and have some fun with us.

My advise, for what it's worth, is to take a break for awhile if you feel you need to. Give it some time, then make a decision. I would really hate for you and all your posts to disappear forever. Just my .02 as a friend to a friend.
