I was packing Sunday for my upcoming trip to STJ (leaving Friday) and wondered if any of you usually take a pair of binoculars. Just not sure if it is worth lugging them around.
Our villa has a pair & it was amazing how often I used them....looked at boats on the water, the boat that landed on the rocks in Chocolate Hole, birds..all kinds of things. I have a small pair & didn't take them cause I knew the villa where we stayed had them; otherwise I would have.
If they aren't huge take them. Sometimes it's nice to look at things from your villa (including the naked people sun-bathing at the house below yours... )or out at the beach..
The last few houses we rented had them.

Your my kind of guy Paul!!
Makes me wonder how many people have been looking at me though?? I always make sure to suck in my gut, smile and wave just in case someone's looking..
After you said that Bev, I was reminded that 13 years ago when my wife and I were honeymooning on Tortola, we chartered a boat for the day. We were anchored off Jost and there were 4 or 5 other boats moored there as well and there were several naked people on the other boats. All I kept thinking was, man, I wish I had a pair of binoculars.

See...you might miss something! With my luck it would be some naked fat guy who looks like he's wearing a cardigan and he isn't....
Sorry, I can't top the naked people story but depending on your location I would definitely recommend taking them. we were above Francis Bay. From our villa we watched turtles surfacing and whitetail deer on the beach in the early morning.
Husband and I got married on STT almost 12 years ago, paid a guy with a boat to drop us and a cooler off on Little Saba for the day and come back and fetch us. While there and naked a boat came up and anchored off shore. I was so miffed I refused to get dressed - kind of like the noisy family who sits right next to you on a deserted beach. Uncool to intrude.
Anyway, many villas have binoculars, you may want to ask the rental company before lugging them down.
So wait a minute...you were naked and so were they??
It's like a "Naked Gun Fight at The OK Corral" Who's going to put clothes on first! Good for you for standing your ground!!
