I got mail from Kauai

Some people get picture postcards when their friends travel.

I received this in the mail. Cool, huh?

So funny. You can always find something that fits something else. (Did I phrase that correctly?)

We've been to Kauai a couple of times. There truly is a bit of a problem with feral chickens. One B&B offered earplugs to help guests sleep through the crowing. I was told that residents find it bizarre to see tourists photographing the chickens, in the same league as seeing tourists on the mainland photograph pigeons. The name is amusing but the service is real:

Some enterprising person might start such a business on STJ. And in the entreprenurial vein, I still think that someone could do okay with a Kenny tour or at least selling Kenny maps like the maps of stars' homes in Hollywood.

Lex's idea sounds like the perfect St John solution...

Maybe a second job for Joshie-he would find a great name for the business

???? Joshiesislandchickenchasers.net

He could take care of his own rascal roosters, then yours, and have an island-wide business in no time, maybe even the entire USVI.

...perhaps I should keep my ideas to myself!!!!

Ruth, funny mail it is! How nice to have friends who think of you...and your problems...even when far away and on vacation.

Only live humane TRAPs are used, but THEN what happens to them?

On Kauai we ate at a little local restaurant that had a stuffed chicken up on the order counter. I mean like taxidermy stuffed, not bread crumb stuffed.

It gave me great satisfaction.

I think there is an excellent short-term business opportunity here for someone.

Obviously if you were to start a business like this and you were really good at it, you would solve the feral chicken problem. Then you’d be out of business.

Correct?

You have a point...guess keeping the first job might be a good idea.

And how was that Top Secret Food Product?

The Top Secret Food Product was great. I was a little over-excited and had a slight mishap with the strawberry filling and the white skirt but fortunately I had a Bleach Pen on hand.

All is well now.

Wouldn't the feral chicken business turn into the egg business? I guess that wouldn't be the most lucrative job, so when ready to wind down you could have one really big bbq on the beach....poor chickens.....
