Bombalassy or Pink Conch anyone?

Post by rosestone955 »

My wife and I are thinking about staying at Pink Conch or Bombalassy. Has anyone stayed at either of these villas? I can't find any reviews anywhere.

Thanks

I vote for Pink House. I personally didn't stay there, but we had friends who did. Who wouldn't want to stay right on the beach?

Pink House has always looked fantastic and if we stayed at places like that it would be excellent. It's isolated and out of the way and perfect for those that travel with adults! (unlike us...)

I remember sitting at pool at Idyllic on Maria Bluff a couple of years ago when Bombalassy was being built and watching the construction through our binocs and thinking to myself...Oh Gawd, that driveway looks nasty :shock: . Looks like it turned out nice and the location can't be beat for those who like to be close to town and sitting right on top of the Westin. (like us!) :D

Two totally different homes not to mention two different islands and therefore vacations - what exactly are you looking for :)

Ah, if you mean Pink Conch or Bombalassy, from what I understand they are both fabulous but Pink Conch is the more private of the two as Pink Conch's pool overlooks Bombalassy's pool - but both are wonderful from what I have been told.

It would make this a lot easier if Caribbean Villas didn't use the exact same photos for both villas. Are they being deceitful or just lazy? Either way, when you're spending thousands of dollars on a rental, you at least should see actual photos of the villas you're considering.

I noticed the photos, but the pool shots are different.

For what its worth, the owners, island natives Mrylte and Curtis Penn and very lovely people. Mrytle and Curtis acted as the on island manger for a villa we rented a few years back. We had a number of issues and they were wonderful, extremly responsive, even calling us one night when the "current" on island went off due a transformer issue of STT to make sure we were OK and to see if we needed anything. I can only imagine how well they would care for thier own properties.

Sorry I missed this posting earlier but yes, stayed at Bombalassy last October. We loved it! It was so convenient to everything that we enjoy doing - Beach Bar! The pool and deck are fabulous. No problem with privacy at the pool. I guess the neighbors could have seen us on our deck but they were busy with their honeymoon so they didn't bother watching us.
The drive is steep but we had no problems. We stayed across the bay the year before and watched the construction of Pink Conch and Bombalassy and thought that you would have to be crazy to stay there because of the steep drive but it wasn't that bad. The stairs are also steep so get into shape before you come. I showered several times a day just because it was so much fun looking out the open window into the beautiful bay. I would definitely stay there again!
There are a few pics on my shutterfly site:

I have wondered the same thing. They aren't trying very hard to earn that extra 5%!

Did you find a different listing somewhere else? Caribbean Villas has the same pool shot for both villas:

I checked out the pool shots on the web site and they are both Bombalassy. It wouldn't matter though, both villas are almost identical. The only difference that we could see was the furniture. The pic was taken before the railing was installed. The pool is small, not really for swimming but perfect after a long snorkel day. You can see a good pool shot on my shutterfly site;
