Bongo Bongo- What is it?
If you're new here, you might read posts and have cause to wonder occasionally what "Bongo Bongo" means.
Bongo Bongo is the name of a house on St. John that was recently completed by a couple of guys from Washington DC and which is now on the rental market.
Here is the link to the completed house:

The reason it is so famous is because Jeff made a blog about building a house on St. John which, believe me, is quite an adventure. It is very funny to read and extremely informative about what it is like to live here and try to get things accomplished. You should read it if you get a chance. It even has vidoes, including a great one of The Beach Bar!

Ruth,
Thanks so much for posting the link to their blog. We met someone on a STJ beach this summer that asked us if we'd been reading the Bongo Bongo blog. I just had not taken the time to look it up after we got home. I thoroughly enjoyed it. How did they keep their sense of humor? If we needed two bedrooms, BB would be at the top of our list.
I was in your store in July. Loved the coffee and rub you suggested. See you next year!

hey Flip-flop, I agree with you. I feel a deep NEED to rent this villa.
Though it isn't to help the guys pay the mortgage. Reading the blog for so long has given me some sort of weird connection with BongoBongo. It may be a few years before we can get back <sob>, but I definitely plan to rent it. It'll be nice and broken in by then.

It definitely helps that the house looks very cool. For us it would have to be a kid free trip since its gonna be awhile before our littlest one is over 8!
Still, it is definitely on my list for a 2 couple trip. It was surely eye opening to see the progress (or lack thereof) from the perspective of two regular guys.

I think it must be REALLY close to where we stayed last time on Choc Hole Hillside. Probably was under construction and I didn't even notice. My brain (but not my safety sense - I think that is innate in women) goes on standby when I hit the island.
We have stayed in Choc Hole 2x, Reef Bay 1x and will be back in Choc Hole this time. I am thinking I need to branch out. Looking really seriously hard at Coral Rays for my next after this one trip.
We would have picked it this time if not for the old ladies traveling with us (my mom and her friend with not so good knees). Man I hope they never read the forum

I feel the need to bring this thread back up again so newcomers to the forum don't think we're all bongo bongo.

I'm feeling kind of sad that the Bongo Bongo Blog is ending. The Bongo Bongo Blog and a chuckle has become a part of my routine.
I saw Jeff and Russ yesterday and we had a chat.
They said they are definitely starting something new and different after the Bongo Bongo Blog ends.
I asked:
-Will I be able to look at it every day?
-Will it make me laugh?
They said "yes" and "yes".
Whatever it is, it might not update daily, but it will still make me laugh if I look at it.
So I'm hopeful...
