What type of business do you wish STJ had?

Post by Pete (Mr. Marcia) »

If you had to pick one type of store or business that you wish STJ had, what would it be?

I'll start. I wish they had a music store that rented guitars so that I didn't have to lug mine down with me.

Your turn.

I know were you are going with that, Jorge! If I were a few years younger and as many pounds lighter, I might think about a career change.

Being from New England, there is only one business that I think should be everywhere.

Dunkin Donuts.
(I know that our coffee roasters won't like that, oh well)

BEER!

Post by JT »

I'm with Pete with a place to rent guitars. That's a problem for my wife and me that was solved thanks to a couple of friends of ours. They loan us a crappy, Asian- made accoustic when we go down.Amazing how it beats the heck out of nothing. But seriously, being honest, I'd prefer less businesses than more. I've never wanted for much when on island, though I must admit that I wouldn't mind a bar in Coral Bay that had a tap system and a selection of good beer on tap. I've seen on the net that Island Blues is for sale,[asking price $650k]. With the new marina complex coming, I would think that some carpetbagger, with a lot of capital, a good lease, and good management skills, could do pretty good with that location, good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.

I certainly do not want to sound corny or cliche, but I love it just the way it is! It has everything a nature-pristine beach-food-snorkeling-tranquility-lover could want or dream about!

:D

ENJOY! (I know I do :D )

Lisa, I'm with you. Like I said, I'd prefer less businesses to more. I hate the whole idea of the impending developement of Coral Bay, but nobody asked for my advice or opinion. And eventually the creek will rise.

Okay, Jorge, let me see if I'm tracking. You want a MILF strip club in STJ? That's twisted...intriguing...but twisted.

I don't know if this exists or not, but some type of Day Camp or fun type activity service for the youngsters that come along and need and break from Mom and Dad for the day...say if Mom and Dad want to go take a day trip to the Indians, etc. (and not just for the Westin/Caneel crowd). Although I don't have a need for this service, I teach Kindergarten and would love to start a service like this down there when I retire..so I can LIVE on St John rather than visit.

STJ lacks a very important food element for late night drinkers. So to that end I nominate

http://www.titostacos.com/

and an original Tommy's Burger
