Crash's Fishing Day

Post by bevm »

My girlfriend hired Bite Me Charters to take her fiance' out along with Crash. Due to high swells Capt. Bill cancelled the charter on Wed. but luckily they were able to go yesterday.
I floated in the pool all day and read a book.

The barracuda is less than thrilled. My friend freaked out and that's why you only see part of the fish. Image

This dolphin followed them all of the way out. They went 15 miles offshore in a 30 ft. boat.

Crash's big catch of the day. A FRIGGIN' SEAGULL!!!
Only he could come to STJ and reel in a seagull!!

Capt. Bill removing the gull from the hook..He flew off and was fine.

And finally...Griff's beautiful Mahi-Mahi. Capt. Bill cut off a filet and we had it for dinner. He took the rest of the fish home for his dinner guests.
They came home with huge grins! It was a great day!

Oooh, look at that mahi mahi! I am jealous!! Looks like a fun day. I'm glad the seagull was OK.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I SO want to go fishing next time down, but just have such a hard time doing that instead of enjoying the beach. You pics really have me motivated now! Thanks Bevm!

That looks like a ton of fun! Awesome scary barracuda - how do you get the hook out of that mouth??

And that Mahi looked delicious!!

I'd be one of those forum women that would go fishing for a day - my dad always wanted sons and ended up with three daughters instead!

That Mahi looked awesome! Ali, I'm the fisherwoman in the family. I'd be out on that boat with you.

Cheers,

We did once when I lived on island and would love to do it again.
I am really a newbie at it.....
If we get some interested parties we should all go

I would consider it Ali. Always went fishing with my dad, but of course no Mahi Mahi's where I live (more like cod and sea bass). Do you want to try?

Just noticed the fishing question for the ladies. I fished with my dad when I was growing up, too. (Maybe that can be my STJ job when I move down.) I haven't been deep sea fishing, or any other kind of fishing, for years. So, I'd be in for a group charter if it works out. If I catch a seagull, I'm not letting it go, though. I hear they make great stew.

Thanks for posting. The guys in our group (and some of the ladies including me) always talk about going out but somehow never make the arrangements. I am going to book mark this for our upcoming trip planning.
