Tipping Porters?

Post by SuefromMA »

Hi,

We will be travelling thru San Juan airport in a couple of days on our way to Virgin Gorda.

We will have a limited amount of time to collect our baggage, go thru security & get to the Air Sunshine counter to check in for our shuttle to Virgin Gorda.

We are thinking of perhaps getting a porter to assist us in the process. We remember going thru San Juan Airport once before & it was nuts!!

Any advice - pro or con versus using a porter? And/or any advice on the whole process of arriving on San Juan - then taking another flight out to Virgin Gorda?

Also, if we do avail ourselves of a porter - what is it customary to pay them?

Thank you, all.

Can't believe - just 4 more sleeps!

WooHoo!

We just did the same trip (but on a charter) and I would get a porter.

The walk was long, very long and our porter even took us in thru a back area. From baggage claim to the counter (air sunshine was at the same counter) it was at least a 15 minute walk and we were really rushing.
