Drinking poll

Post by Lex »

We're doing surveys at work. I got curious how the forum members would break down in some areas.

Lex, is the poll over? I can't get it to work.

Or maybe I am too drunk.

I always hate when they ask this at the Dr.'s office! So you lie? Or admit to drinking?? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, "I drink, damnit!" But only for medicinal purposes...  :D

Well, it depends on if we are talking in real life or STJ life ;-) Two very different answers.

It's funny to me that this poll has started. I've been a pretty steady drinker for many years, but six months ago I woke up one morning and decided it was time to take a break for awhile. Thought I might make sure that if I went for a few days that I wouldn't be seeing any pink platypuses running around. Somehow I've been stone cold sober for over 6 months and am enjoying it. My wife drinks 2 or 3 most nights. My social scene is still very alcohol oriented. I may have a couple on any given day, as after all this has been self imposed. I have just chosen not to indulge right now. I've even gone to two pro baseball games this past week and had lemonade. I will even go to a bar with friends and have non-alcoholic beer. Now if I was down at Shipwreck I doubt that this nonsense would continue!
BTW_ I would normally have been in the more than 2 drinks a day column.

When you say "Drink once or twice monthly" does that mean drink as in drink a lot one or twice a month or have one drink once or twice a month?

For me it's weather related-now that it's getting warmer (some days!) it's nice to sit on the back steps with a beer or couple glasses of wine and enjoy the sunshine. But cold weather months? Forgeddaboutit! B That's why on St. John I get off the plane and go directly to the free rum stand-good thing I live in a state where it's below 60 7 months out of the year

I wonder if everyone is being honest. A couple of glasses of wine is just part of cooking dinner. That doesn't count the drink before bedtime. I guess I'm a total drunk and didn't realize it. I feel fine in the morning and don't have a hangover. WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN???   (Now I didn't drink the last 2 nights because I didn't feel like it.) Going to the Astros game today and those overpriced Bud Lites are so good at a ballgame.

Back in the "old days" when I was new to the Internet, I could put away an entire bottle of wine just while chatting on AOL! And I did that several times a week! Can't do that any more though... I got acid reflux and I got over AOL!

I didn't see it as being a drunk.
