Periwinkle Villa
Periwinkle Villa
I am trying to find more current information on this villa. All that I can find is reviews from years ago. Has anyone stayed there in the last year? If you have, what can you tell me about this villa. If you have pictures as well, I would love to see them. I am really starting to have some troubles finding a villa. The other couple we are going with does not want to spend more than $800 for the week for the 2 of them. Yes, I know, that will be hard. I thought I was up for the challange, but now, not so much. Any help you out there can give me, would be great. We do want to stay in Coral Bay.

I can't help you with Periwinkle.
Did you look at Sailview? You could rent both studios(if available) and be within their budget.

I stayed at Periwinkle about 7 years ago and can't help you with recently. If your going with another couple it only has one bedroom plus loft that would offer no privacy to which ever couple used it. My wife and I stayed here alone and enjoyed it very much,it shares a driveway with Rosebay but was very private and had a great sunset from the hottub.
We have stayed in Periwinkle Cottage in Coral Bay 3 times since 2001 and we will be there again this coming June. It would be comfortable for 2 couples - the 2 bedrooms are of equal size and each has its own attached bath. When we were there last year (July 2008) one of the bedrooms had a/c, but the breezes and ceiling fans work so well you probably won't need the a/c. The pictures on the Great Caribbean Getaways site do not do Periwinkle justice! If you want I can send you more information in an email.

Periwinkle was on my short list the last time I was attempting to put together a StJ trip (before our schedules imploded). I had written the Periwinkle people and got a quick reply. He included many recent photos and answered my questions. I suggest contacting them with your questions in addition to your query here.

I can't help with Periwinkle, but www.vrbo.com has a few that might fit that budget. Here's one that caught my eye http://www.vrbo.com/228253

At first I saw their budget and thought 'no way' - but there are a few things out there that would give you 2 bedrooms/2 baths. (Hoping that you mean low season. High season would be tricky at that price.)
Check www.windspree.com They have Coral Bay properties; these are in your range:
Banana Cabana -- this one is in your range and has a pool! Looks nice.
Villa Calabreeze
Treehouse
Others or VRBO:
Coral Rhapsody (looks dark?)
Barefoot
