Travelling to Jost via St. Thomas

Post by quietmonkey »

A friend is arriving in St. Thomas on a Thursday via the late afternoon Delta flight. She needs to get to Jost Van Dyke. As there is no direct travel from St. Thomas to Jost at that time of day, is it possible to catch a West End, Tortola ferry in St. Thomas, travel to West End and clear BVI Customs and catch a ferry to Jost that evening? Thanks for any helpful replies.

Looks like your friend would have to be in West End Tortola by 6:00 pm- shows as the last ferry to Jost from Tortola.

There is a direct ferry Red Hook to Jost, but the latest shows 3:00 pm departure out of RH.

I'm sure it'll come in handy again in the future.

I did that last year, arrived at about 2:30 p.m. on a Thursday, and even with a troop of boy scouts boarding the ferry 45 minutes late we made it to West End with plenty of time to get to Jost. I think she'll be fine, even with the "island time" factor.
