I just got back from a 2 day conference. I don't have a laptop so I went on one of the computers in the lobby to find that THIS forum was blocked because of sexual content, etc, blah, blah, blah.... really? hmmmm
But I could go on MySpace and Facebook and Yahoo and such.
I just fond that interesting- and frustrating!

You have every reason to be upset and you should never go back to that place again, conference or not
I have heard of this happening a couple of times - I think the reason may be sloppy administration of a firewall - i.e. blocking a wide range of IPs that somehow include ours... anyway I am hoping that is the case!

Seriously that could be it and that was what I meant by sloppy system administration. The person setting up the firewall may have added domains to block and used very broad keywords, like "virgin"...
a few years back, i was serching for an image from "emmett otter's jugbanb christmas" (a muppet christmas movie) and my employer had it blocked for porn!!! i assume it was the "jug" in jugband. crazy stuff.
