In search of- Gonna' need a lot of help here-

Post by mahojim »

Back in the early 1980's,(Whoa, I'm on the sunny-side of 40...) I received a book from a girlfriend of mine, entitled,"The Unforgettable Fire".
It was where U2 got their inspiration for their album, back then; It wasn't just a great song.
It was a book with personal hand-drawn recollections from Hiroshima survivors, mostly children, as well as some adults.
This woman, who was my first love, gave me a copy of this book.
I was 16 years old. I had no idea what 'history' was. I had no idea of anything.
Her father was Japanese, Mr. Gerald Nogaki. He was an American born child, and was born into one of those Japanese Internment camps, and she told me about his memories explicitly.
Miserable.
Now, 25 years later, the book long lost, I'm so much more entranced about "Oppenheimer Beach".
There's so much history to think about.
And I've got to get to the bottom of it.
Funny how the word "Japanese" is a mere 6 pages away from the word "Knowledgeable" , in my old fashioned dictionary...
Any help in finding a copy?
I'd love it.
Thanks, and always
Smiles-
Jimmy
