Newbie Hello

Post by TrvlJohn »

Just wanted to introduce myself. My wife and I have visited St. John several times as day trippers from cruise ships and have always thought that our day on St. John was the best day of the cruise, so this year we are giving up the cruise thing and spending 10 days on St. John. We have booked a small apt in Coral Bay from May 20-30. I am sure I will have lots of questions. I have already read many posts while researching for this trip and I thank you for the help so far...

Let the countdown begin!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

We are staying at the Crow's Nest in Coral Bay. It is the top floor of the Town and Country building. It is right across the street from Skinny's. I have read enough about Skinny's to know that I will be spending at least a little bit of time there. I read many good things about the apt. on this forum and others.

I am having a hard time deciding what to do about a Jeep Rental. It seems there are very good and very bad reviews for every agency. I would ask you all for your insight, but it has been written about here over and over...there does not seem to be a clear-cut winner :!:

Thanks again for the welcome...all advice is welcome and appreciated.

thanks
John

Fire away with your questions! 8)

Beach Bar on the 24th sounds great. :D

Question: If our flight is arriving at 3:30 and we do carry-on only, do you think we can make it to the island by 5:00 PM? Do you think we can make the 4:00 ferry from downtown if the flight is on time? I don't think we can make the 4:00 ferry from Red Hook, but I was thinking we could make the 4:00 from downtown. How long does the downtown ferry take to get to stj? I have only taken the Red Hook ferry in the past.

I am trying to decide when to pick up the Jeep (if i can decide who to rent from :!: ) I might just wait until the next morning to pick up the jeep.

thanks
John
