My birthday on the full moon next week!!!!!!!
My birthday on the full moon next week!!!!!!!
I just realized we'll be in STJ for the full moon and my birthday starts at midnight that night!
hooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwllllllll!!!!
now the question, is where to howl at the moon? I've heard about Miss Lucy's but since we'll be having jazz brunch on Sunday I'm wondering if we should do something else?
If I seem prolific, it's that I"m off work this week as I get ready to start a new job after we get back from STJ.
And anticipation is the greater part of pleasure for me!

I'm a big fan of watching the moonrise over Coral Bay from one of the overlooks on the way down Centerline Road.

Looking over your should you might see some goats watching too! They spend the night on the hill above the highway and seem to be waiting for and watching the moonrise.

We're in the minority, since Miss Lucy sold the place we've gotten horrible service there. Last good service was 1999. We go to Shipwreck Landing instead for a better experience. We've done full moon at Sweet Plantains too.
Another favorite Coral Bay moonrise:

Cheers, RickG

My gosh rick, thanks for sharing another perspective and some great pictures! Are you having issues at Miss Lucy's for all meals or just the full moon deal? I've also heard good things about donkey diner for breakfast. I had planned to introduce Mr Otter to STJ Sunday morning at Miss Lucy's after a drive down the north shore. bad idea?
We've been outliers at two places: Miss Lucy's and Zozo's - horrible service from both more than once. We've stayed away from both the last few years, but have heard good things from people we trust.
The full moon event at Miss Lucy's is a zoo and I would recommend calling for reservations and being the first to arrive. We've heard two reports (first-hand) of food running out and insufficient serving staff.
Donkey Diner is great fun for breakfast. We like to load up there the day we leave. Put your bug spray on before you get there.
Cheers, RickG
