According to the schedule listed on this site, there is a 4:00 ferry from downtown to Cruz Bay.

I was thinking about ferry schedules this morning for our upcoming trip.

Pia might have some info for us, I think I remember a post she made about waiting for some renters, that missed the 4:00 but got on a 4:30 ferry. I have been trying to locate a 4:30 ferry and can not find one.

Any information about a Saturday 4:30 ferry would also be appreciated by those on island.

Waterguy sorry we are going to miss your forum get together have a Painkiller for me

When you get off the plane, just ask the taxi dispatcher which ferry will get you there the fastest.

I believe the 4:30 ferry leaves from Red Hook.

OK, hang in with me here as this maybe confusing :)

There was a 3:30 and 4:30 ferry from Red Hook in addition to the regular schedule, but at the moment that is NOT happening. The 4:30 ferry that all of the villa "greeters" thought was the 4:30 ferry (that we thought was not running but then "seemed to appear") was actually the very late 4pm !!!

Right now we have ferries leaving Red Hook on the hour and (last week at least) the 4pm downtown CA ferry WAS running as scheduled.

Hope this helps

Thats what I was looking for. I love to take the down town ferry when I'm bringing new people to STJ it seems to get them into island time better then having to take the taxi to red hook wait for the ticket window to open stand in that line that goes on forever. Down town just seems more relaxing.

That plus:
- Motion sick from the rolling turns in a van that needs shocks
- Exhaust leak in the back of the van
- Getting a tour of the West End of the island while all of the STT folks get dropped off

I'm for the CA ferry. We may try the car barge in April.

Cheers, RickG

I second the motion sick thing! Maybe we should try the downtown one this summer! I was so sick I was laid out on a bench the entire ferry ride! It really didn't make for a great first impression!
