First night tradition?

Post by jdw »

What do you usually do on the first night in St. John? Are you too tired from the travel day to go out? Do you have a tradition that you stick to?

Just curious.

Well, I would tell you, but my wife just said if I do, I will no longer have a first night tradition.

Naw, just depends on how we feel. Mostly I like to sppend the evening getting unpacked and getting groceries so we can start the next day off right.

Pick up groceries, especially my VI Pale ale. Unpack, "crack open a pale ale", make a pitcher of Pina Colada's, sit down and enjoy the view from "God's Country".

Does not get any better than that!

We're usually at the Westin for our timeshare...so we unpack, breathe deep, walk on the beach and then have dinner there!

Where is Candies BBQ (close to Starfish somewhere)? This sounds like a great plan for our upcoming first evening!

Throw bags on bed.

Walk to the Beach Bar.

Drink at the Beach Bar.

Walk back to our place.

Sit out on deck for a bit.

Hold hands and smile.

night night.

Closed doors after all that.

Candi's is very close to Starfish.

As you are driving from Cruz Bay to Starfish, there is a quirky intersection right before you get to Starfish. I say quirky because most drivers are unsure whether they are supposed to stop for the stop sign there or not. Anyway, if you do stop at the stop sign...look left...there's Candi's.
