Friends Seminar on Feb. 22nd

Post by Tracy in WI »

The Friends of the VINP have a new seminar called "Eco Spa Day" that I am interested in. Just wondering if anyone else who will be on island is going to do it - my husband (oddly) won't join me!

Here's the description...

Febraury 22, Sunday 2-4 pm

"Bask in the cleansing mud of Salt Pond while learning about its healing mineral properties and other organic spa materials from ranger Deanna Somerville. Enjoy the cleansing of the mud, treat your skin to an aloe bath, rejuvenate your hair with natural oils, exfoliate with an anthurium natural scrub brush, and take a swim in relaxing saltpond to end your day"

That sounds great. I wonder if they have this seminar at other times. I bet the ladies who are joining me on the "girls trip" would enjoy it.
Hey Tracy... I think we might be married to the same guy. Hee hee!

That sounds right up my ally. I didn't realize there were healing properties in the mud at Salt Pond.

Unfortunately, I'm departing St. John Feb. 21 so will miss it. Too bad. I would have really, really liked to be there for that.

OOHHHH Flip Flop and I would be TOTALLY game for that! Damn!!

I wondered about whether or not it was safe to get into Salt Pond. Don't know why I thought it was unsafe. I guess cause it's brown it just didn't look too appetizing.

I'd love to hear more about how this program goes!

Tracy,

We arrive on Feb. 20 and it sounds like something we might be interested in. Do you have any info about it to pass along?

Regards,

Lynne

I just forwarded the description to my wife who thought it looked really cool.

We are arriving the day before, so it may work out. I presume the seminar is at/near Salt Pond Bay? (I guess that would make sense).

I checked the VINP website and found nothing, but googled it and found this:

We're going in May. I'd love to think that they'd repeat the seminar if it's successful.
Gromit... I agree, the pond didn't look too appetizing. I can't really imagine lolling about in it. Perhaps with the promise that I would feel like a 21 year old again....

Here is a link to the brochure on their 2009 seminars - lots of really fun stuff! We've done the marine biology tour in the past and it was very informative and fun.

I would love something like this.
If we could get more info/dates, I would want to see who would like to go while I am on island.

Yes - I think they only do the seminars during high season. If you're not going then, you may just need to plan another trip.......
