Another island-y book giveaway, anyone interested?

Post by PA Girl »

A while back, I put Keep Left into forum circulation. I wonder who has it now?

I am clearing off the bookshelves again and have another one I am offering to anyone interested.

It is Wind from the Carolinas by Robert Wilder. Someone that knew I liked to read and liked the tropics recommended it to me.

At the time, several years ago, the only copy I could find was an old hardcover. Based on what I saw on line, it really isn't worth it for me to resell it and I would be happy to send it along to someone. (It has already made its rounds to my family and friends.)

It is a historical novel about a Loyalist family that flees South Carolina after the Civil War. The family heads down to the Bahamas with the intention of starting a plantation on one of the Out Islands.

The book follows several generations of the same family as their lives progress both on and off the islands.

The book starts out a little slow but overall, it is a good read. Island living is a key element in the story line.

So, if anyone is interested they are welcome to it. Maybe it can be passed around. Just let me know and I can mail it to you.

Hi, PA Girl. I have "Keep Left" and am going to send it to MahoJim when I finish. Posted a thread a few weeks ago, and MJ was the first to ask for it. So, it's still traveling. Great idea, btw. Thanks for thinking of it. Pam

I have a few more that I need to part with.

Don't Stop the Carnival for example.

Hubs bought it for me on our honeymoon at Caneel. We were riding the shuttle and a couple from Texas was with us. (I remember the wife being wildy drunk, funny the things that stick in your mind.)

The husband mentioned he read it and BTW, it is for sale in the gift shop. Hubs went in the next morning and got it for me.

It the interest of declutter, Don't Stop the Carnival is also offered for forum circluation.

I would very much like to get in on this traveling book idea. I am a big reader and of course the tropics are most interesting. Please put me on the list. Thanx.

Thank you PA Girl, so so much.

Sherban, I agree, this is a most generous offer.

I am looking forward to a good
