silly Q but where is Vicki......
Vicki, sadly, your mom's pictures don't look completely unlike those that the hubby and I took during our trip last July. We had a cheapie disposible and getting a good shot through that thing was impossible. We had some great shots that showed 1/2 of a turtle. Then, when we got the whole turtle, the picture was blurry or dark. We did, however, capture plenty of pictures of my backside. Perhaps my hubby won't get to use the camera so much when we return.
I just had a chance to read this thread.
PMer, I am aware of your situation and I still think you are being overly sensitive.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Vicki on St. John a couple of times and she is such a sweet person.
Vicki, those photos are hilarious! I love the face one! I can't wait for your trip report and awesome pictures.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
Vicki, you seem cool and have an awesome sense of humor so I say s---w the person who PM'd you. Your mom's photos were hysterical. Keep your sense of humor. Sometimes with aging parents it's what gets us through!!
Budman, that would be "tangenital": But the definition for "tangential" fits:
tan·gen·tial (tn-jnshl) also tan·gen·tal (-jntl)
adj.
Definition: Merely touching or slightly connected.
(Hmmmmm...Merely touching? Genital?) Do we even want to go here (or there) for that matter ???
2Feathers, you left a 3-legged elephant along the side of the road?? I'm calling The ASPCA and PETA!
(Now that was some funny stuff! Cracked me up!)

I'm just catching up on this topic. I would just like to say that page six started me laughing until I cried and now I'll be giggling for a while. Is that a bad thing?
PA girl, alw1977 and VickiH, you're killing me here.
VickiH, I don't care what anyone says about Mom's photography skills, I really enjoyed her rare shot of that turtle's butt.

Had to jump in here. Vicki - you seem like an absolute doll and I hope you don't let anyone keep you from enjoying this forum. I remember reading your blue bucket trip report and laughing hysterically!!
My darling mom is almost 84 and in reasonably good health. She still lives on her own, drives
, and goes out 4 times a week (cards, dinners, etc.) She does get a bit out of breath when she walks due to a heart valve "just wearing out". Well, on our recent trip to Las Vegas for a family wedding, I told her we would just get her a wheelchair so she could have a great time and not get tired. Over the 4 days we were there, we wheeled her everywhere. Even if she was 5 feet from the bathroom, she'd say "oh, you better push me there". Okay, no problem. Well, we go to the wedding and my brother says to me 'Look at MA". She is up on the dance floor dancing like John Travolta!! for 3 songs! When she returned to the table, I said "Ma, we have been pushing you around for 4 days cause you can't walk far and now you are up there dancing!!" . She said "I can dance, I just can't walk"!!!! Our response, next time you need to use the ladies room - dance to it!

ST Ruth - After the X-raying of the child scare and on the other side of TSA security check point, there was much screaming (by my mother) and running about a breast pump that involve a TSA agent very nearly physically restraining my mother.
TSA was yelling, my mom was yelling, Hubs yelling, again, and I was thinking about drinking.
All I can say is Hubs is a saint for agreeing to travel with my family.
Maybe we should do a travel with family thread.

Vicki,
I wanted to thank you for taking your moms on this trip.
I got to take my mom back to the islands in 2002 (she introduced me to the VI's)
My mom and dad both worked for the airlines so I got plenty to time down on STJ.....
I lost my mom last yr and it has been hard and seeing those pics your mom took reminded me of mine and even though she hated the water (terrified of it) she was a good sport and would sit by it and take my pic but it always ended up a pic of a tree or the sky or something...........
