Latest update - Relay is approaching quickly ! Only 2 weeks away and they are getting more and more local teams signed up! For anyone who will be on island , the entertainment will be amazing including Inner Vision among many other bands and a cirque de solely type group.
Our virtual team has done amazing with its fundraising efforts and currently are at the $2140 amount but I think after this weekend it will a tad higher. I will be doing my 18 hour walk in hour of Relay and Cancer never sleeps this weekend from Sat at 2pm til Sun at 8 am. I have 1 fundraisers - 1 is a 50/50 raffle for whatever amount, ticket drawn at end whoever wins gets half of Proceeds and relay gets the rest. The other is $2 raffle ticket for a set of mini rums from STJ when we return from our next trip or 2 1 liter bottles of flavored your choice. Or you could just donate at
www.relayforlife.org/stjohnvi
If interested in raffles let me know and I will put tickets in and I can tell you where to send $ or check!! Just trying to get a much money for a great cause!!!
thank you to all who have participated all ready!! You never cease to amaze me!!!

I am so impressed with you Leslie and will be cheering you on from afar. Thank you so much for all your efforts to set up the Wannabee's and for continually promoting Relay for Life. Looking forward to hearing how you do with the 18 hour walk tomorrow. Wish I was near you, I would join in.

You're one of the good ones! :D

Good luck with the walk, Leslie! I'll be putting in my "friends" donations end of next week on our site. I'm collecting some cash from my group at work who want to sponsor me. They know I'll be walking the beaches the end of February as my contribution. :D

Leslie

and Leslie is most AMAZING... she completed her relay this morning... some stats- "walked 19 hours, which was equivalent to 57 miles or 125,400 steps" :!:

There is still time to donate to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/Relay ... r_id=39706

THANK YOU Leslie!

Thank you everyone who has contributed so far BUT we aren't done yet , are we?? Our total is $2335.75 as of today (it's amazing what you find when you are walking that many hours but I did donate that 75 cents that I found at hour 15 or 16 of my walk!!) I still have some St John Relay car sticker left for those who donate and will be happy to send one your way!
I think we can make it to $2500 before Relay begins!!
We basically have ten days so let's invite everyone we know who loves St John to donate a little bit to honor someone who has suffered through cancer or survived and to help our island friends!

love you guys and your spirit!! Coud not have done any of this without the finanacial or emotional support of my forum friends and family!!

We made it over the $2500 mark before St John's Relay even begins!!
Online it says we are at $2391 however I just mailed Mary, the chair of the event, $150 in checks that I we got from donors. So we have six days before the actual 18 hour event on island and we have raised $2541.75 !!!
Thank you guys do much for not thinking I was crazy when I proposed this. There is still time to donate and honor a survivor or someone who has passed from cancer with a special offering to our island friends!
