I heard back from the chairperson, Mary Castle Bartolucci, who said we could have a virtual team representing the VIOL family. We are signed up and our name is the "WannaBe's" ( Thanks SOTB)
You can go to the following link to sign up for our team and start asking people to donate on your behalf or just go and donate via one of the team members. If you do not like to give credit card info online- I would be happy to take checks made out to American Cancer Society and get them to Mary before the event in February - just PM me for my address!!!
Like I said we can put together a fundraising effort or just try to ask for donations. we currently have $200 donated.

Thanks to all who decide to partake!! Mary was very excited on behalf of the committee!!!

X- not sure why it won't work now because it is the exact one I used to sign our team up with but here is a different one that I have checked a few times today and got on without trouble..

we got another donation from a great Forumite!!!(you rock!!!) I have emails out to family and friends telling them I don't want a birthday present for my upcoming 50th birthday just want them to donate. Also Last day of 2011 to get a tax deduction my friends so this is a full deduction so take advantage. The Tradewinds wants to do an article on our team so let's get more people signed up to be on the team.
The concept of Relay is someone from the team is walking the track the entire 18 hours of the event and you go through the emotions that a person going through cancer feels.- I would love for us be able to not only raise money but to take shifts the day of the event and be in contact with them in STJ via this site or SKYPE , etc. I will also be selling the Relay car stickers that are available in STJ that are beautiful and created by a student. (i will get Steve to upload the picture as I'm not good at that- they are $5.00)

i just wanted to tell you guys so far our team has raised $590.00!!! Some donations are from friends or family but most are from VIOL forumites so WAY TO GO!!! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!
