I'm off to pickup a Canon SD 850 IS for land shooting. I'd rather just leave the SD410 in the housing when its not charging. But, I get about 120 photos out of one battery charge with the SD410.
Rick...If you like your 410...you will LOVE the 850. One of my favorite "new" features is the ability to select the shooting mode...i.e. "underwater"... from the Mode Dial (SCN) on the side of the camera...vs. searching through the menu button on the 450.

Also...The touch control dial now magnifies the image of the menu & displays it on the LCD! The dial can be controlled by touch or by circling your finger on the dial...similar to the ipod dial!!!

Now...I gotta get the WP DC-15 for the 850 & I'm ready for Waterlemon 2008!!! I cannot wait!

Curious to hear how well you like your new 850!

Linne I use Picasa and click on I'm feeling lucky and usually that fixes it! Really easy editing! My camera is a cannon SD600. I love how little it is and the underwater housing makes it easy to hold on to in the water! The sunlight conditions really make a difference too!

Hi Cat. I showed hb your pictures yesterday evening, and he also admired them, but he says that the water perhaps wasn’t so clear, when we took our pics, or what you also tell that perhaps it’s something with the sunlight to do. Cannot believe if a special editing should be able to change the pics so much. On the other side we can see from Waterguy’s pic before and after that the change is incredible. So perhaps we will buy another software. Waterguy uses Photoshop.
Picasa could be an option too, I can see.
Thank you!

Hi!

Just want to tell that I have downloaded Picasa and
it's really good, better than the software from Olympus! Thank you for the tip, Cat.

Linne, I like it because it is really easy! I have photoshop and a few others but Picasa is the only one I use! Enjoy! I'm glad I could help!

The 850 arrived this week from Beach Camera. I'm going to stick with the SD410 for underwater and keep the 850 in my pocket.. It does not have an underwater setting, but Photoshop does a good enough job cleaning things up. When I get the case I planed to do manual white balance adjustment, but never had to in order to get good results.

Cheers, RickG
