Favorite items from St John Spice
Re: Favorite items from St John Spice
My new favorite item is iProf's tee shirt. Need to look for that in November.
Other St. John Spice favorites - my St. John sweatshirt

(that still works - thanks mbw1024)
Cruz Bay Grill Rub and Jerk spice
Kiss of the Jumbie coffee and Key Lime tea ( and the little tea leaf holders).
a woven wristlet purse
painted glasses
2 mugs - one with a Trunk bay scene and one painted
a palm tree sand sign
a white bathing suit cover-up
The friendly owners and staff.
Oh, and that smell when you walk through the door.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a million other things.

CBGR of course! Love it!
I think I would love the roasted garlic peppers....will get those next visit.
And Half Moon Bay Trading Pirates Blend Caribbean Condiment sauce I LOVE! I buy a TON when I'm on island, and I order over the net as well. I found a place where I could buy it much cheaper, but shop with Ruth and Ron anyway, cause they're good people.
And the t shirts that just say St. John on them.
ALL of my souveniers come from St John Spice

My favorite is the St John Jerk Spice. I mostly eat chicken and ground turkey, and put it on everything. My favorite is making spaghetti with ground turkey and adding the Jerk Spice. Delicious! Another favorite is making meat loaf with the ground turkey and adding the Jerk Spice to it.

The Swedish fish. Mmmmm..... I stopped and picked up a bag (sometimes two!) every day of my last trip.

Kiss of the Jumbie coffee! I love it iced with milk and just a little bit of sugar
Valley Doll hot sauce, and Jerome's hot sauce. I also like the Trinidad Charlie hot sauce, especially the West Indian sizzle. I also like the Sunny Caribee fish spice, Cruz Bay Grill Rub, painted wine glasses...
The shop on the other side has cute and reasonably priced beach cover ups. I have a bunch from there. My niece has some of the spaghetti-strap ladies flowy tops that she wears as dresses over her bathing suits. She always gets compliments on them.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Is the Kiss of the Jumbie coffee whole beans or ground?

It is sold whole bean, but there is a grinder in the shop and the clerk will grind it for you while you wait.stjchica wrote:Is the Kiss of the Jumbie coffee whole beans or ground?

I also have to say Jerome's Hot Sauce - green style of course!
Re: Favorite items from St John Spice
We always get new mugs from there everytime we go. Also usually get nutmeg and tea and Kiss of the Jumbie coffee. I have a really cute hat from there and lots of T-Shirts too. I need to get some of the Cruz bay grill rub when we are there in a couple weeks. Love St John Spice!
Re: Favorite items from St John Spice
I love too many things to count, especially the owners! But, they have key lime tea???? I am not a coffee drinker, so going to have to try that! We order from them year round, not just while on island. Hmmm... Cruz Bay Grill Rub, the jerk seasoning, curry powder, Trinidad Charlie's original, Valley Doll hot sauce. My hubby likes the jelly beans, I have bought beach bags, calendar planners, Christmas ornaments and lots of other things. Oh, and that smell... a candle would be a great idea! They have great AC too when it is HOT there! Almost forgot, Curly Spice! MY fave store on STJ! We will be doing some retail there soon!

Re: Favorite items from St John Spice
Yet another CBGR fan here! Bought one bottle on trip 1. More on trip 2. Then a friend brought home the cute jar with the wooden spoon CBGR for me (I loaned her my STJ books.) When that started running low I ordered the 1 lb bag with a friend. Trip 3 I bought 7 or 8 spice packs of it for friends who were cooking for my family while I was galavanting across STJ. Trip 4 coming up... and you bet I'll bring home more!
I also like the deck of cards we bought there with the picture of the old Caribbean map.
I bought my folks a beautiful carved wood salt and pepper shaker set there that they (and I) really like.
Many thanks to Ruth for the Spice Cam, the W.O.W. pictures, and for supplying us with goodies that help us get a taste of STJ once we're back home.

I always stop in for Vanilla... I get myself one and my sister-in-law one. Last trip, i got to the bottom of the stairs after my purchase. Handed the bag to my husband to hold, and he promptly dropped it! So I had to run into buy another!
I always pick out a hot sauce - I'll have to try the Valley Doll next time.
And oh yes, last trip I picked up my "Occupy St. John" tee-shirt.. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Question about the vanilla....It says it has rum in it?? Do you use it like you would regular vanilla?luvinsun wrote:I always stop in for Vanilla... I get myself one and my sister-in-law one.
