we did Ace charter in, and took the ferries out. I will say...it adds up quick! Between the ferry prices, paying for each bag, and paying for a night in hotel in Tortola...it was almost as much as the return flight would have cost. It was a huge shock to us that it cost us over 200 bucks to take the ferry one way from great harbour to cruz bay! No lie...(with bags and all). Gulp
Nice! I was wondering if you would get something - they have a very loyal repeat clientel.RickG wrote:We just reserved at Guavaberry Spring Bay. We'll do Anegada as a day trip. Now time to reserve VG car rental!
Re the car, ask Valerie or Tina at GSB if they still give a discount on Mahogany Car Rental if you book it thru GSB.
And if you need a VG taxi I highly recommend Shorn at 284-541-2917. Wonderful personality and always right on time.

Mahogany is great for your car rental. They meet you at the ferry dock and when you're done you just park it and leave the keys in it on your way out.
On Anegada, rent your car from Dean Wheatley. He and Henny are among the beautiful souls of the island.
Aw, I can't wait for Pearl and Soca to come christen your foot bath! Soca opens doors too ya know!
Couple more things...If you haven't been, don't forget the Jumbie BBQ at Leverick on Friday nights. Also, you may want to check out Michael Beans.
Snorkeling is good off Spring Bay/Trunk/Little Trunk around the boulders. Also Savannah and Maho are good. You can do a really inexpensive afternoon snorkel/dive trip with Dive BVI. Casey is wonderful! It's like $30 per person. They go to the Dogs, Rhone, Etc. You can also do a dirt cheap snorkel trip at the Bitter End. DIRT CHEAP...like $10 & $20. Well worth it!!!
Hiking to Gorda Peak is an adventure. Take lots of water!
Eat a meal at Top of the Baths, then take dip in their pool. Yummy Sammies and Pina Coladas at Mad Dogs. Tuesday buffet (I think) at Mine Shaft. If I remember right, there is live music on Wednesday's at Bath & Turtle. They do decent take out Pizza too!
I heart Guavaberry!

VG will be a fine trip!!! - perhaps see if the ladies are awed by enough of Anegada maybe, before a longer stay there - the sun, sand, expanse of white beaches and total laid back island ambiance are perhaps a bit much for an occasional vacation experience but as a life style memory it is a real step back into an island mindset that is really hard to replicate.
Thanks for the advice gang! I love Anegada and have camped there solo as well as taken sweet Christine to Netptunes Treasure. Neptunes is an awesome deal and costs less than Maho Campground for an a/c room with flush toilets. A day trip will work great there.
I'm hoping that VG is much calmer than STJ for spring break. Guavaberry Spring Bay is a place I've wanted to stay at since 1996. Finally get to give it a try! I'll definitely call the ladies at GSB about a car. Leverick Bay is on my list for a meal as well as the Jumbie BBQ. Looking forward to getting to know VG better.
For the future, I'm thinking that Anegada would be the start of a great two week trip. We did a JVD, Anegada, Tortola, VG, St. John trip in 2004 and the biggest pain was getting from JVD to Anegada. We should have taken a sailor up on a ride, but we would have had to leave JVD a day early. Getting from JVD to Anegada meant a cross-Tortola cab ride that was a real pain. Starting In Anegada, then VG on the ferry would be great, but there was no ferry in 2004. Another time!
Cheers, RickG
