Jo Ann - VA wrote:It is strange that this topic has come up. I have been discussing this with my husband for the last two weeks. He tells me to go ahead and order it but I am a little hesitant. I read every night before I go to sleep so I know I would use it a lot but I have a few questions:

1-There is no back light so you have to have another light source to read in bed at night correct?
2-Have any of you purchased a clip on type light and does it work well?
3-How much are the books you order?
4-Have you tried to transfer a word document from your computer to your kindle?
5-Is it hard to read? I have gotten to that magic age of having to use reading glasses.
6-How is it reading outside in sunlight?
7-Have you experienced any problems with the kindle?
8-Does it seem flimsy to you?
9-Did you buy any of the accesories for it?
10-Did you buy the extented warranty?
11-Are you glad you bought it?

Sorry for all of the questions!

Thanks!
1. There isn't a back light. I really miss it but I did get a clip on light and it works fine.
3. It varies. Go to Amazon and look it up. They really aren't that much cheaper. Also, it takes longer to get new releases.
4. No
5. Not hard to read at all. I can make it any size I want. I have thought about getting on for my Grandma for this reason.
6. I don't notice any problems.
7. No
8. No
9. No
10. No
11. Very glad.

Also, there is a new book reader made by Sony. I saw it at Best Buy. It doesn't have a back light either. You might want to check it out also.

The two improvements I would like to see are to have a back light and to be water proof--oh, and a 3rd I don't want to wait for new releases.
